Zdenko Feyfar was born Zdenko Jaroslav Mořic Feyfar on March 2, 1913 in Jilemnica to the family of Jaroslav Feyfar and Ada Tauchmanová. His father, Jaroslav Feyfar, was a doctor and a passionate amateur photographer, which determined Zdenek's life path. Zdenko is one of the most important Czech photographers. In 1958, he won a silver medal at the Expo 58 world exhibition in Brussels. His main love was the Giant Mountains and Prague. He climbed steep hills for the best shot and could wait for hours, days or months for the best light. Zdenko Feyfar already ranked among the legends of Czech photography during his lifetime.
Feyfar was known for his ability to capture the beauty of nature and architecture. His photos are full of details and emotions. He was a master at capturing the atmosphere of a place and a moment. His works are still highly valued and sought after by collectors and photography lovers.
Zdenko Feyfar's photographs are represented in the collections of the Museum of the Capital City of Prague, the Museum of Applied Arts in Prague and the Moravian Gallery in Brno.
He died at the age of 87 in Lomnice nad Popelkou and is buried in Jilemnice.
