Zdeněk Menec

Zdeněk Menec was a Czechoslovak photographer who became famous for his pictures of the landscape and folk architecture of Podkrkonoší and Orlické hory. He was born in 1914 in Úpice and apprenticed with his uncle Jansák, a photographer in Nové Město nad Metují. He also worked there as a journeyman until the end of World War II. Later he moved to Hradec Králové, where he died in 1998. His photographs were exhibited at several exhibitions, for example in 2014 on the occasion of his 100th birthday anniversary at the Municipal Gallery Zázvorka in Nové Město nad Metují. Among his works are also postcards with motifs from Podkrkonoší and Orlické hory.
