Julius Eduard Mařák was a Czech painter – landscape artist, draftsman and graphic artist of the second half of the 19th century. In 1852-53 he studied at the Prague Academy under Professor M. Haushofer, then in 1853-55 in Munich under Professor L. Rottmann. From 1858 he lived in Vienna, after 1887 he moved to Prague because he was offered a position as a professor at the Prague Academy in the landscape painting studio. His students included Antonín Slavíček and František Kaván.
